Paranormal Romance Author

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.

Hi! I'm a paranormal horror author who occasionally dabbles in erotica. I am the author of the Paranormal Detectives Series, which follows mortal detective Danny Mancini as he discovers that there is much more than Heaven and Hell dreamed of in his philosophy. Join him as he and vampire FBI agent Angelica Cross save Chicago from vengeful vampires, werewolves, and more.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

My latest book is "Miranda's Rights", the second book in the Paranormal Detectives Series. When I started the series I had no idea it would even BE a series, and the inspiration for this book really was just a germ of an idea that Danny should encounter women of his past and have to fight against prejudices in order to find love and happiness.

The dead don’t always rest easy...
Retired detective, Danny Mancini, is haunted by nightmares after he found out that paranormal creatures exist. All he wants is to forget them…especially a certain half-vampire. When cursed werewolves show up trying to kill him, he is forced to go back to the Paranormal Investigative Division for help against a powerful old enemy. What he was not expecting was a dead ex showing back up after twenty-six years.

What authors, or books have influenced you?

My biggest influence is Stephen King, which may come as no surprise. His work and his book "On Writing" really helped shape my work.

I am also inspired by many classics, including Poe, Doyle, the Bronte sisters, and Tolkien. I also read Ellen Schreiber, Darren Shan, and Zac Brewer growing up, and their work was detrimental in my deciding what genre I would write in.

What are you working on now?

I am editing the third Paranormal Detectives book, "Life Sentence". I can't say much without giving spoilers, but we see a lot of new foes, like demons, and we also see Angelica Cross trying desperately to adjust to a very difficult situation in her life.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Don't give up. I have a stack of rejection letters, some of which made me cry and want to quit. If this is your dream, don't let ANYONE stand in your way, least of all yourself.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?

I have gotten a lot of great advice, but the best thing was from my publisher, and that is to get yourself out there. Make an online presence. Promote. This is your career, and you need to invest in yourself.

I hope to finish the Paranormal Detectives Series's next book (a novella coming between books three and four), and I have a short horror story releasing on June 28th from CHBB Publishing, in the "Lurking In The Shadows" anthology.
